Imperious,
Congratulations on your work with War in Europe 1939-1945! The map looks incredible. Thanks for forwarding the images to me last month.
Looking forward to a view of the War in the Pacific.
Also wanted to say thanks for your work on AA Revised the Historical Edition. Lot of gamers very much appreciated you adding the files over at BGG. Looks like close to 100 downloads on most of the charts and rules.
The War in Europe 39-45 map is a great size at 4x5. Do you have any intentions of offering a combination map of War in Europe and Pacific? I would really like to see your quailty/design maps in a layout similar to the set up of WWII Struggle for Europe and Asia. But, a map 8x10 would be too large to keep set up. Could you customize a combined type of map to something around 4x6 or 5x7. If I remember what you had said. I think you were limited to a 4' max width. I would like to speak with you about buying a map like this from you. Curious what you able to do with your new equipment.
Do you have a set of rules in place for War in Europe and Pacific to be played as one game?
Look forward to hearing back from you. I'll check back here for your reply. Or actually just shoot me an email.

Yes sir. I have been asked about combo War in Europe and Rising Sun, but they would have to be played seperatly for now.
I dont think that either axis was the least bit willing to coordinate the military campaign with the other. Additionally, both has prospects of victory fully independant of each other and that victory did not depend in the slightest with what the other partner was doing.
Japan had the intention of establishing a series of outposts in the pacific and wanted to remove Anglo-American influence from Asia. They wanted to dominate the asian markets and establish a flow of riches from Asia. They never had any plan nor need to attack the Soviets or 'invade america' To win THEIR war they had merely to remove any military threats to establish such an empire.
I suppose i can link them artifically with some rules that allow transfer of material to the other map and offer the US player the opportunity to decide how he wants to send his income to support either war. That may be a possible starting point. |

How about a combination and resizing of the map/maps. I'm not sure as to your limitations equipment wise as to the size.
-What are your maps size restrictions?
-How can I arrange something with you for combining the Europe and Pacific maps into one for us?
-Obviously the size will be a major factor; but what would you expect the cost to be?
If you still have other people are interested also. I would be be more than happy to show the map to anyone that asks...send some photos, etc. I know 2 or 3 people that would be very interested. |

I now have no size restrictions. The maps can be made in any size. They are 100% vector artwork.
As you may know my Rising Sun game was based on the same math as the original War in Europe. I have in order to accomodate this to:
1) redo the math and rules for Rising Sun ( those numbers are higher compared to Europe)
2) make an additional connecting map
3) how do i treat the rest of the world? I have to add africa or not?
4) for me the best solution is to solve it by redoing Rising Sun ( which i was going to do anyway) and make a few changes by way of player aids and rules to 'connect' the two theatures. Its best for economics to keep the maps as they are so people can play them seperate and then come up with the boxes to conclude movement between the two halfs. It would be an issue of British/ Soviet/ and American money that is allocated to the pacific/ european conflicts. The rules can be very much the same for both games. This would make it easier to play. |

2) make an additional connecting map
I took another look at the photos between the two theatre maps.
A separate inter connecting map is a good idea and would probably prove to be the simplest solution. Or at least the easiest way of combining the two into one large conflict. How about marketing it as the official expansion set to the two theatres. "This expansion now makes it possible to combine the two theatres into one, World War II. We supply the interconnecting map(s), rules and player aids; you make the War!
Now you have the two Theatres of the War. And a separate expansion.
The area not covered or overlapped by the maps is minimal as is anyway. But will there be any difficulties in aligning the two maps longitudially to the interconnecting strip?
3) how do i treat the rest of the world? I have to add africa or not?
Africa? I think your coverage of Africa in the Europe Theatre is perfect. I like the idea of giving players the option to invade South Africa if they choose to. After all it's THEIR war now. They can change or alter the historical outcome as they wish. But I think it is more important to do as you've already done; concentrate the game on what WAS important to the war historically.
I would have thought your first thought would be how do you add in the Eastern US. By the way, How are you going to include the Eastern US? Add to the Pacific Theatre? If your still open to suggestions. Forget making box ares for movement between the areas. Instead, add it to the expansion. One small map strip for the interconnecting area between the center of the two theatres. And another small strip that would bridge the East to to the European Theatre. Once completed it would look much the way the original AA board was set up. Wouldn't this be the easiest way? And would really add a lot to that expansion idea.
I would think that if you've already gotten requests for combining the two games; then there's a market for an expansion.

Obviously a set of separate rules would be need to be written.
As for the original two theatre maps themselves. Would you consider including the territory number values (IPC's, etc) on the existing two theatre maps to be used for the expansion. I don't think it would distract from either of the two theartres when they are played by themselves. And it would allow a seamless transition when played as the World Theatre game.
Please feel free to ask me for my opinion on any part of this project. Well, for what it's worth anyway. I would be more than happy to offer some suggestions. |

Wasn't signed in with my earlier repsonse. Read it here. A little cleaner to read through....[/i]

ok thanks. It would be something i can do but its like #3 in sequence.
first i need to finish War in Europe rules (looking for bugs) and make a 1941 scenario
then redo the rising sun map and rules
then make the 'in-between' maps and rules. |
