| Did you ever obtain a copy of that "Grand Army of the Republic" game by 'Task Force Games'? It would assist YOU greatly upon the 'matters' concerning THIS! I just ask since there is plenty that could become expanded upon for it all, while NOT detracting too much from the overall "experience". Maybe I ought to get my OWN copy of that set up, and then "going" into depth on this, so that I could then mull upon incorporating additional items for considerations eh? For the time being, then I'd probably be using the 1/72nd 'scale' "Troops" for actual "Battles", and even the "Generals", "Artillery", "Cavalry" from the "Battle Cry" game as 'Leaders' and such in this. |

I am using Avalon hills Battlecry miniatures, with wooden counters for generals. I need some naval units ( ironclads etc) need them in 1/3000 scale or 1/6000 scale any ideas?
At this point i got only 3 land units ( very basic) anything else? I want to keep it simple: just 5 different units and generals with cards/ dice for movement. The game is similiar to my Napoleonic game ( with obvious differences). |

OK the game is done except for the action and event cards i have yet to finish. The map is being printed ... pictures in 7-10 days... The game plays very well. I decided to repaint Risk pieces because it wanted to make it easier for people to have access to pieces... I suggest for the naval ships in the game you order from www.panzerschliffe.com for the 1/2400 scale ironclads and blockade runners etc. you can buy say the merrimac (virginia) or the monitor for .67 cents each. the pieces are 2.00 a bag and you will need both types of pieces (old and new risk) about 2 bags each will do it. I think those columbia games "dixie dice" look great for the dice, but any thice will do. Also youll need one bag of chips from hasbro ( also 2 bucks).
After this game is officially finished... i will take a short break before moving on to other projects...
1) Redux on War in the East 1941-1945.. I will redo the map only.. perhaps come up with event cards.
2) I will make a new version of the old avalon hills D-day ( 1977)
with a new map and blocks for units
3) I am looking into a space empire game that is basically the classic Ameoba Wars using miniatures from battlestar glactica and star wars.. this will be a freebie due to certain concerns...
4) eventually i also plan on redoing the map for the "great war 1914-1918" |
