I am pushing the War in the Pacific Project untill this is completed for the reason that the my work is getting much better in terms of quality and design and I want the very best product in every instance. SO i can put what was learned to full effect on the next game. The War in the Pacific rules are done (minus the deployments) while the map remains at 55-60% done. Dont worry because that map will destroy anything you ever saw before it! It will be that good!

Anyway.. The Kursk game covers the German offensive up untill the capture of Kharkov on aug 23rd. The Germans would have to take Kursk by different turns to achieve different forms of victory, while the Soviets need to stop them and take Orel and Kharkov to win. I may think the map will have to be larger than 5x3... with larger hexes than 2.25 inches (say about 2.5 /2.75) to accomodate the pieces. If anybody has any ideas id like the hear them. THIS MEANS YOU!

I estimate game completion within 4 months. Ill try to finish it by Jan 1st.

Well, I'm drawing upon my "grognard" background for this, but I have a GAME from SPI that they first did about this particular 'Battle', and in that, then they 'give' the "Options" of beginning this from JUNE, JULY, and even AUGUST. It makes quite the differences when you begin such earlier, as the SOVIETS will have their "Defenses" reduced accordingly. While with the later start in AUGUST, then the GERMANS are more upon the "Defensive", as they await upon the SOVIETS to conduct their OWN "Offensive" then. There's also many additions or deletions with the amounts and types of various UNITS that were involved as well, and they are reflected with adjusted "Orders of Battles" for them.

I also have this game, however i found some inaccurate information of the OOB. Many have said its the best game on that topic, however it was pretty predictable IMO. I also bought another game dealing with the same topic but all I got of value was the map showing where the soviet and german defense lines were.. ILL post a copy of this map... very soon its long overdue...
